Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween! I love Halloween it's so fun to get the costums made and see what our family is going to be, dressing up, and gong trick or treating. This year Thea asked to be a Indian so I jumped on that. I thought the boy and Corey would be Cow boys and the girls could be Indians, but when Donovan saw a picure of and indian boy with a head dress he was set on that.

Logan is a cow boy. He wants to be a farmer every day and being a cow boy was heaven for him. My mom had a leather vest and the start of leather chaps that her borther had as a kid. I so Logan and I fitted them and then he helped me sew them. He loves loves loves it and I'm sure he will live in it for the next few weeks.

 Luckly we had a boy Indian coustum that my Grandma Geroge made for one of her boys and had passed on to my mom who passed it on to me. It fit him just right and he loved it one night h was a mountan man and the next he was an Indian.

Weekend Plans

 This weekend like most weekends was a busy one. I was up at 6 with the kids, darn Anna wakes up at 6 am every day even weekend, she doesn't' know that weekends are for sleeping in. The kids and I did some early morning cleaning and had cold cereal, which is for Sat only at our house the kids love the treat and I love not having to cook for one day in the morning. at 10 our baby sitter came over and Corey and I left to go mini van shopping. I loved my big SUV but it was time to triad it in for a van with better mpg. I took us 5 hours to find and get a van. it's nice enough for a van not my favorite car but it will work for out family. We spent a small fortune on our great babysitter, but it was worth it not to have to drag the kids with us for 5 hours. Then we took the kids in our new van, that they love and think is so cool, to go to the pumpkin patch. We had lots of fun finding pumpkins Thea got the smallest one she could find while the boys found the biggest ones they could carry. I found a cute blue one and hopefully tonight we can carve them up.

Life Keeps Me Busy

 

 This month we have been busy. Busy with life and all that comes with a house full of kids. Thea has girls on the run 2 days a week, This is her sport running! She is training to run a 5k! She LOVES it she love the coaches and the girls on her team and loves running. At the end of Nov she will run her race 3.5 miles, after training for 12 weeks. I have to say I am impressed I don't really get running but she love love loves it. I can't wait to share about her race. We go to the library once a week for getting books and then the little one and I go for story time a one or twice a week, we have play dates and School for Thea, Donovan and preschool for Logan. so that is 3 drop off and pick ups most days. Thea and I have activity days a few times a month this is the 8-11 girls activity for our church. I am one of 4 leaders I am loving it and Thea loves going. I have PTO( parent group at the kids school) board meetings and meeting for every one meeting with different groups and meetings with the principle... so lots of meeting. But I am loving being the PTO president and being so involved in the school. I also have a few different woman groups from church or with friends for talking about faith to talking about being a mom to crafts, that I go to each month. Corey works each day, is a scout leader for the 11 boys at church once a week and is busy with hunting this month to. Our life is full and busy but I am loving being a mom of busy kids and having lots of friend and activity's of my own. Some how this month we found the time between running off to some activity and keeping house to do some canning. I canned 4lb of bean. Black, kidney and white bean, I use them so much for cooking but I don't want to pay $1.50 per can and dry bean are cheap so I just can them up so they are ready when I need them.

 I also canned Plums for the first time. A friend of mine had a 5 gallon bucket full and wasn't going to use them so she gave them to me. I made plum jam and plum syrup both are so good! I ended up with 23 jar from the plums.

Another friend gave me 3 huge bags of apples, that she had got from her in laws. So far I have canned about 1/3 of bag of apples and made 15 jars of applesauce, it should have been 17 but the boy ate a whole bunch right as I made it. I am going to do more applesauce some pie filling and some apple butter. Hopefully this week I can get it all done, fingers crossed. I love canning and leaning how to make my own things for so much cheaper.

Pumpkin problems

Donovan's class went to a farm to learn about the life cycles of pumpkins on Friday. He learned all about how pumpkins grow and want to plant some next year. He also go to bring a pumpkin home. But poor guy tripped coming out of the bus and drop his pumkin. He handled it really well just told his teacher his mom knows how to make pumpkin pie so he needed to bring his pumpkin peaces home...his teacher let ,thankfully so I didn't have to get it to it with her again, any way the boys pulled all the seeds and gross stuff out and then we cooked it , and Donovan and I made pie mix. Some went in the freezer for pie at thanksgiving and some made pumpkin French toast but most went to make pumpkin almond muffins. Mmmmm..... The kids love muffins for breakfast or snacks or with lunch so I always make a huge batch and freeze most of them. Donovan loved that he could use his pumpkin for muffins. I think we might buy one more just for muffins. :)

Anna's Art

Anna has found coloring, and she loves it coloring paper, herself, my wall.... Ugh. She loves to show you what she did and if you don't say its pretty she keeps showing until she get the praise she wants...silly girl...i hope she out grown the wall and self art part of coloring

Happy Birthday Donovan!!!!

My little old man tuned 6 yesterday! Happy Birthday!!! Donovan is a little old man sometimes but others a really little boy 😊 he is loving school and doing sooo well! He has become my beat cleaner and most often dose his chores with out complaining, he is a good big brother and peace keeper with his little brother and sister, he also is getting very good at being a little brother and knows just how to bug and help Thea I won't say witch one it is most often. He loves to play on the Xbox 360 and know how to work it better then I do most the time. He also loves to play guns and fighting anything can be a gun books pillows ita doesn't have to look like a gun to be turned in to one 😊..... boys. We spent his birthday doing lots of thing we started the day having his birthday breakfast of protein shakes and cinnamon toast, his choice, and then he got to open his gifts. ( I think its so fun to give them first thing in the morning so you have all day to use them, and the kids love it) Corey and I gave him a new bike and the kids gave him new Skylanders, ita a game he like to play, then off to school with treat for his class. After school I told him we could go anywhere he wanted for lunch but he just wanted lunchables again easy so we ran to the store grab lunch and stuff for dinner. Then home for an after noon of playing his new Xbox games, for free with out earning time he was in heaven! For dinner the missionarys came over Donovan always has them over for his birthday he asks every year, live that! Anyway again his choice was easy nachos, and a square cake. Love how easy going this boy is! Today is his party so be ready for picture over load soon! So a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my mans!!!!!

Girls Time

While the boys went scouting outing the girls had a nice girls weekend at home not a lot of photos but lots of fun! Thea had a friend over for a late movie night. We don't' have sleepovers so we do late night play dates. So Thea and her friend played a watched movies. Thea had done a lot of job for me to earn choosing out a treat for the store she chose gram crackers and frosting, and a can of soda. They had so much fun playing and watching movies. Anna went to bed and Slept in until 10:30 on Sat. I have a bunch of great friends over for our own movie night we had so much fun laughing and snacking with each other. On Sat there was a giant body exhibit that Thea had been dying to see so we went and walked through the big body and learned all about the different body parts, it was a fun little activity and just the right time for Anna. After  we went shopping for fabric for our Halloween costumes. Thea had a hard time picking what fabric would be best so I settled it by choosing the cheapest one. This year Thea wanted to be an Indian and wanted me to be one to so me, Thea, Anna and Donovan are being Indians and Logan and Corey are being Cowboys.
